Shops: Re-telling a tale of retail

Glass fronted marble floored malls with waterfalls, super-car showrooms, uniformed doormen, brand nirvana connected by air bridge to the air-conditioned sky-train system. Trendy and kitsch boutiques nestled amongst ex-pat condo towers of Sukhumvit. A Starbucks on every corner, a 7 Eleven on every block. A Ronald McDonald that does the ‘Wai’ to you at the door.

That’s the stuff  I haven’t taken pictures of.  I also didn’t include street stalls or markets. They definitely deserve their own theme.

Shopping in Bangkok can be anything you want it to be. Here is some of what I saw this week.
